FAQs – Wait and Load Skip Hire Alternative
Q: How quickly can you collect?
A: Book before noon and we’ll usually collect the same day. Otherwise next-day. For weekend or out-of-hours jobs we can usually arrange with 24 hours’ notice.
Q: What’s the latest I can book for same-day collection?
A: Noon is the cut-off for same-day. After noon usually moves to the next working day. Call 0207 101 4003 if it’s urgent and we’ll see what’s possible.
Q: Is Wait and Load cheaper than a skip?
A: Yes – you avoid permit costs (£40–£100 in central London), delivery and collection fees, and the 7-day skip rental. We come, you load, we leave with it.
Q: Are there any hidden fees – fuel, congestion charge, mileage, weekend surcharges?
A: No. Half Load is £160 + VAT flat, Full Load is £320 + VAT flat. That covers fuel, ULEZ, congestion charge, kerbside collection, disposal, and the Waste Transfer Note. Add-ons (driver loading, extra time, out-of-hours) are clearly priced.
Q: How much time do I get to load the waste?
A: Half Load includes 30 minutes loading. Full Load includes 60 minutes. Extra time is billed at £1/min + VAT (£60/hr equivalent) – only the minutes you actually use, no rounding up.
Q: Do I need to lift heavy items myself?
A: No – driver-loading is available for +£75 + VAT (1 person). For heavy items needing 2-person lifts, call 0207 101 4003 for a bespoke quote.
Q: Do you offer trade or contractor accounts with credit terms?
A: We earn credit terms with our customers, not extend them upfront. First job runs pro-forma. Repeat customers move to credit terms once we’ve built a track record together. For multi-cage projects or recurring contracts, call 0207 101 4003.
Q: Can I get a VAT invoice in advance – for back-charging to a client or letting agency?
A: Yes. VAT invoices are emailed the same day as collection with EWC waste codes and our carrier licence number. We can address them to a property owner, landlord, or main contractor if you tell us at booking.
Q: Do you handle plasterboard or insulation from a strip-out?
A: Yes – but plasterboard and insulation must be kept fully segregated from the rest of your load. They’re classified as sulphate-bearing waste and go to a specialist disposal route, charged separately. Flag the volume when you book.
Q: Do you take rubble, hardcore or heavy waste?
A: Yes – but rubble is heavy, so you’ll hit the cage’s weight limit (500 kg Half Load · 1,000 kg Full Load) well before the cage looks full. WhatsApp a few photos before booking and we’ll confirm the right load size.
Q: Can you take asbestos or hazardous waste?
A: No. Asbestos, hazardous chemicals, fuels, oils, and clinical waste are out of scope. These need a separately licensed hazardous-waste carrier and a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note.
Q: What about paint tins, sealants, solvents and fluorescent tubes?
A: Small quantities of fully-dried paint tins, empty sealant tubes, and packaging are fine in a mixed load. Liquid paint, part-full solvent containers, fluorescent tubes, and batteries are classified as hazardous and out of scope – keep them out of the cage.
Q: Do you charge extra for Mattresses, Fridges, WEEE, Plasterboard, Insulation?
A: Yes – these go to specialist disposal routes, charged per item or by stream. Tell us the volume when you book and we’ll quote accurately.
Q: Will I get a Waste Transfer Note?
A: Every job. We email it the same day so it lands in your records before the site closes.
Q: What’s your waste carrier licence number?
A: Capital Recycle Ltd holds an Upper Tier Waste Carrier Licence – CBDU466346 – registered with the UK Environment Agency. Verifiable on the public Environment Agency register.
Q: Can you provide a recycling certificate or BREEAM landfill-diversion data?
A: Yes – for customers with BREEAM Wst 01/02 evidence requirements, main-contractor PQQ submissions, or client-side ESG reporting, we can issue a monthly recycling summary. Flag the requirement at quote stage and we’ll set up the cadence from job one.
Q: Do I need a skip permit?
A: No. The cage van uses your existing loading area or a kerbside parking spot – no permit, no road licence, no overnight risk of someone else filling it.
Q: Do you cover my postcode?
A: All London postcodes inside the M25, plus Watford (WD). We’ll confirm an arrival window when you book.
Q: Do you offer weekend or out-of-hours collections?
A: Yes. Saturday, Sunday and out-of-hours collections (before 8am or after 6pm) are available with 24–48 hours’ notice. A flat +£100 + VAT surcharge applies on top of your standard tier price.
Q: Can you collect from upper floors, basements or back gardens?
A: Yes – that’s what the driver-loading add-on (+£75) is for. Heavy items needing 2-person lifts, very awkward access, or jobs where one loader would run out of time are a bespoke quote – call 0207 101 4003 before booking.
